We are both Brazilian citizens and students of the MITRA (Intercultural Mediation) master’s program. Given that we are also part of the plethora of facets of the LBTQI+ community, and are able to speak the languages of those we interviewed (Portuguese and Spanish), we believe that our profiles can be used in our advantage to access this group more easily and avoid certain linguistic and cultural bias.
Kauê Gabriel FONSECA MOURA studied geography at the Federal University of Paraná (Brazil), where he was involved with the research of migrations to in Latin America, in his case it was mostly geared towards the spatialisation of Chinese Migrants in the aspects of their territorialisation. He is currently doing a Master’s degree in Intercultural Mediation (MITRA) at the University of Lille 3 (France), KU Leuven (Belgium) and University College Cork (Ireland). Home to him is a clean, private space with a steady access to internet, and in a culturally interesting environment, which can happen to be anywhere in this planet.
Vinícius de FREITAS CORRÊA studied French Letters at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and Languages, Literature and Foreign Cultures – Portuguese in the University of Lille 3 (France). He is currently doing a Master’s degree in Intercultural Mediation (MITRA) at the University of Lille 3 (France), KU Leuven (Belgium) and UNAM (Mexico). He is interested in sociolinguistics, gender studies and visual anthropology. Home to him is anywhere where he speaks the local language and his loved one is with him.
